Lord, Have Your Way

“As for God. His way is perfect: The way of the Lord is tried: He is a buckler to all that trust in Him.” Psalm 18:30 (KJV)

I woke up this morning singing a song with the lyrics “Lord I don’t mind, I would like for you to have your way. It’s alright, I would like for you to just have your way.” I did not know who sang the song, but I mumbled the lyrics as I did my morning preparations to get the kids ready for school. I googled the lyrics and listened to the music on YouTube. The song, for some reason, gave me an extra measure of God’s assurance. We don’t know what the next second or the next day holds, but we know Who holds the future.

When we trust our today, tomorrow, and our entire lives to the Lord, it’s an act of submission. We have our free will, but when we daily and sometimes for me by the hour, tell the Lord to have His way, it’s a constant denying of our will. We are crucifying our desires and our flesh. ‘Have your Lord’ is so easy to say, but hard to do at times. God is Sovereign. He is in control, He is the Ruler of Heaven and Earth, and absolutely nothing takes Him by surprise. While life circumstances may shock us, and knock the wind out of us, God has not lost control. He has not forgotten you. He has not forgotten Your situation. He had not forgotten His promises. He is a God of Covenant. He does what He says He will do.

Daughters of Fire, I want to challenge you to ask the Lord to have His way. As you go throughout your day and the rest of the month, ask Him to have His way. It’s a constant surrendering of our will to His will, His perfect ways. He promises to be a Buckler, once we trust in Him. I constantly remind my Heavenly Father that I am His child. It’s not that He has forgotten, but the reminder is more for me than for Him. It reminds me of Who He is, and as I remember Who He is, I am reminded of Who I am and Who I belong to.

He is kind. He is wonderful. He is faithful. He is loving. He is Mighty. He is full of compassion, they fail not. He is all we’ll need and so much more! He is our Constant. He is our Shield. He is our Buckler, our Strong Tower, He is our Strength. Our Peace. He is Our First Love. He is the Lover of our souls. He will never harm us. He has good plans for us. He is a God of Covenant, we are never alone. He is always with us, never will He leave us nor forsake us! Lord, have Your way in the lives of Your daughters! As we seek You, You promised that we will find You. You promised that You would supply every need according to Your riches and glory in Christ Jesus! Lord, have Your way! I trust Your path for the lives of Your daughters, may You continue to prove to us that You are exactly who You say You are! There is none like You! No One can compare to You! You are our Redeemer and our Deliverer, and we submit our lives and our will to You. Lord I don’t mind, I would like for You to just have Your way. It’s alright I would like for you to just have Your way!
