“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” -1 Thessalonians 5:18 (ESV)

A heart of gratitude is a heart free from the worries of life. This doesn’t mean that there won’t be circumstances or curveballs, but it’s how you choose to react to what is happening around you.
God wants us to give thanks in ALL circumstances, not just some, but all, not just when things are good, but in every situation, no matter how difficult it may seem or become. When we choose to have gratitude as our attitude, our perspective changes. The glass is no longer half empty, but half full, and with gratitude, we’re filling the the glass with even more hope.
There is nothing that happens that takes God by surprise, He is Sovereign. He knows everything. Sometimes, He allows some things to happen because He wants to build our character, and He wants us to develop our trust in Him. God is good, He is greatly to be praised. He loves us with a love that isn’t built on what we do, but He loves us because He is God. We can never buy or earn His love, and that alone should fill us with gratitude. My heart becomes overwhelmed with gratitude towards Him because of His love towards me. His grace and kindness to me is overwhelming. I choose to be grateful, and I choose to extend the grace He extends to me to others. I just want everyone to know and feel what I am feeling. I want others to know that Jesus loves them and that no one can love them like He does. I am so filled with gratitude because He loves me! I am secure in who I am in Him. I am content in Him. I am blessed to know Him and call Him my Lord.
Daughters of Fire, I want you to be encouraged today and believe that when no one sees you, God does. I want you to always be filled with hope and gratitude because God has not forgotten about you and nothing about your situation is a surprise to Him. Hold onto Jesus. May your hearts and homes be filled with love, peace, and gratitude. May your glass always be half full and continually be filled with gratitude. The Sovereign God who created the heavens and the earth, who is the Ruler of everything, knows and sees you. He has not forgotten about you! Keep trusting Him! I love you, but Jesus loves you more!
