“Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.” (Psalm 27:14)
“Casting all your cares upon him; for He careth for you.” (1 Peter 5:7)
Sometimes the WAIT carries WEIGHT. It becomes a burden. It’s almost like this heavy luggage you’re dragging around, taking it from place to place. We sometimes feel like the Lord doesn’t understand the waiting period, and we forget that He’s building much more in us. He’s developing our character. He’s teaching us to trust Him. God’s waiting room teaches us to seek Him first and depend upon Him. Don’t allow the weight of the wait to cause you to think that God is mean, because He isn’t. Sis, God is NOT punishing you. He loves you, and what you are waiting for is sometimes so much more than you can ever imagine, and God’s waiting room is simply the place to expand your capacity to receive it. God is a God of exceedingly, abundantly, so much more than we could ever ask, think, or even imagine! I am a living testimony!
There are also times when the wait and the burden of the wait cause us to become anxious, and the thing with anxiety is that it can cause us to move out of the will of God. Remember Sarah? How she asked her husband, Abraham, to sleep with their servant Hagar. Sarah’s anxieties caused her grief, pain, and ultimately, what her anxiety produced, she got rid of. Don’t allow anxiety to cause you to manifest Hagar while you’re in God’s waiting room.
Have you ever found out that the wait isn’t as long as we think it would be? What we believe would have taken years, the Lord, in His divine providence, can accomplish in months or even weeks. As you wait on Him, strengthen your faith by trusting Him, and it’s okay to take baby steps. Don’t rush His process. He loves you, and He is the most beloved Father you can ever have. He cares for you and is filled with compassion for you. Daughter of Fire, from before the day you were born, your Heavenly Father had this amazing plan for your life; therefore, I encourage you to trust His plan.
Daughters of Fire, more than anything else, our greatest desire should be to reflect the characteristics of Christ. We should want our response to be His response, and our ways to be His ways, and if it means that you have to sit in your Father’s waiting room just a little bit longer than you thought necessary, then sit and wait. I promise you it will be worth the wait! Daughters, cast your cares, list your anxieties, pray, be honest with God, and lay them at the feet of Jesus as you wait. He who cares for you, He will strengthen you. He who cares for you will give you the courage and the perseverance you need to wait upon Him. He who cares for you loves you with an everlasting love. He is wonderfully kind and gentle. He is purposefully shaping you into the beautiful daughter that will reflect and glorify Him. I love you, but Jesus loves you best!
