Mind, Body & Spirit: The Journey to Rediscovering Myself -The Spirit

“If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.” — (Galatians 5:25, ESV)

What does it mean to live by the Spirit and keep in step with Him? It means obeying His guidance, doing what He asks, speaking what He gives you to say, and going where He leads. It means delighting in the Lord, living in the freedom Christ provides, and trusting Him even when following Him means walking alone.

Each of us is uniquely created to carry out God’s work on earth. How can we fulfill that purpose without communicating with the One who holds the master plan for our lives? We are His handiwork, and He has the blueprint for our lives. Living by the Spirit is not a four-step formula; it is a lifelong, intimate relationship with the Lord. At times it is painful because the desires of the flesh and the Spirit are constantly opposed.

We often leave the path God prepared for us because we think we know better. Yet departing from His will leads to heartbreak and failure. His calling may not be glamorous, especially when we crave recognition and applause. Keeping in step with the Spirit means remembering that life is not a performance; we live for an audience of One. Whether or not anyone notices or thanks us, what matters is pleasing God. Learning this takes maturity, and painful seasons can teach us that life with Jesus is worth more than all the world’s treasures.

Nothing is more fulfilling than knowing who you are, and Whose you are, and walking the path God created for you. It is astonishing to realize that before the foundations of the world, before the mountains, seas, sun, moon, stars, or even the dinosaurs, God was thinking of you and had a good plan for your life. Because He has a plan, we must remain in constant communication with Him to understand and follow it.

I remember a season when I was mentoring and saw success because I was doing what the Lord had called me to do. Lives were transformed, and some people encouraged me to share the work on social media, but I knew that was not right for me. It was not what the Lord wanted me to do, and I did not want recognition for what God had called me to do. To keep in step with the Spirit, we must be willing for our work to remain unseen. Not every platform is meant to be public. The Spirit transforms us so others can see Christ in us; His work glorifies Christ, not us.

Daughters of Fire, reaching the place where your deepest desire is to please Jesus is not easy. The flesh will still resist, but you will learn to crucify it. A life that pleases Him is worth living, even when you must stand alone, because He is with you. I sometimes resist what the Lord asks of me, yet I thank God that most times my desire to please Him is stronger than my desire to satisfy my flesh. Keeping in step with the Spirit teaches us that God sees and knows everything; the opinions of others do not define us. When you forget what He says about you, open His Word. Confidence in Him grows as you spend time talking with Him, listening, waiting, learning, and allowing Him to lead you into truth.

Daughters of Fire, do you know how deeply God desires to walk with you and reveal His beautiful plans? As He walked with Adam in the cool of the day and spoke with Moses face to face, He longs for close fellowship with you. Daughter of Fire, stop striving and become who He created you to be. Walking by the Spirit means letting go of comparison. You are uniquely and beautifully made, and your path will not look like anyone else’s because your Father and Creator has a distinct plan for you. You are deeply loved, precious in His sight, and always on His mind. Live by and keep in step with the Spirit, being confident in how treasured you are.

I pray that your heart will be opened to know your divine calling in Him and that you will become still enough to hear His gentle voice directing your path. He longs to reveal Himself to you in ways you have never imagined. As you open your mind to know Him more and surrender yourself to Him daily, may you discover what it truly means to live by the Spirit and keep in step with the Spirit.

I am praying for you, and I love you, but Jesus loves you so much more!
